About…

Coby Sullivan has always been a storyteller.

As a child, she made newspapers by stapling paper together and writing stories about imaginary people and events. She went on to study International Journalism - a pursuit driven by curiosity but one that ultimately felt too rigid.

She built a successful career in marketing and tech, connecting people and building strong, thriving communities based on sharing and vulnerability.

In 2021, Coby’s world was rocked by postpartum depression, following the birth of her second child. She tried desperately to ‘fix things’ but eventually had to surrender to her diagnosis and accept help.

She began writing some of the raw truths about her experience. Soon, her journal was filled with questions, quotes, poetry and short stories about motherhood. Her husband encouraged her to lean into this new-found spark of creativity and see where the writing took her. His belief in her, at a time when she didn’t believe in herself, changed everything and she chose not to return to full-time work and instead, write a book.

That book is Milk Fever - a deeply personal yet universally resonant exploration of postpartum depression. It’s a story based on true events, that sheds light on how PPD can infiltrate even the most of confident and optimistic of minds, fracturing identity, relationships and even self-worth.

What started as catharsis has turned into a mission: to say the unsaid, validate the experiences of countless women and instill hope.

Through her writing, Coby blends the curiosity of a journalist with the emotional depth of a mother who has survived postpartum depression.

Milk Fever is more than a book - it’s a necessary conversation.
